This past September, one of my travel dream destinations finally came true! How does one even begin to describe an experience at Londolozi, one of South Africa’s original private game reserves.

Two important things happened. I experienced my first safari, and I already know it won’t be my last. And I experienced it here, which somehow made it even more extraordinary.

There are several camps to choose from at Londolozi. We stayed in a beautiful one-bedroom chalet at Founders Camp. A luxuriously quiet private space where you rest between daily sunrise and sunset safaris. Your exclusive backyard is a large deck with a plunge pool and chaise loungers, looking out onto the wild landscape where elephants, leopards, and so many other incredible animals roam freely.
